KaizenCentral is a multi-style organisation practising Shotokan, Wado-Ryu, and Sport Karate. Clubs under the same style operate a similar syllabus maintaining a set standard within each style.
Our instructors / coaches play an integral role in developing and monitoring training programs for our members.
The name "Kaizen" is adopted by the federation and is a widely used term for "Continuous Development". This reflects the federation’s philosophy to always be in pursuit of excellence. We encourage all members to be continually developing, growing and improving whilst practising Karate.
How will you benefit from Karate?
Karate provides its practitioners with not only the ability to protect them in the event of a violent attack, but also has a number of other psychological and physiological benefits:
| Self-awareness | Muscular Strength | |
| Flexibility | Agility | |
| Co-ordination | Balance | |
| Confidence | Cardiovascular fitness |
Karate enhances the male physique as with a women's figure. It enhances the body’s cardiovascular capacity and improves the blood circulation therefore contributing to a healthier life style. Karate can be made fun and enjoyable through training drills encouraging all children from ages 6 – 16 to participate.
Equal opportunities programme
KaizenCentral is equal an opportunity Federation. Our aim is to ensure that each member receives equal opportunities irrespective of race, sex, marital status, age, religion, disability, sexuality or nationality. The KKF will continually review its procedures to ensure no groups facing discrimination are treated un-favourably in any way that may have an adverse effect on them as members of the KKF.
Kaizen Central Karate Federation
The Federation recommends the number of training sessions students should have attended between various grades. Mandatory courses have been introduced to ensure a good level is being maintained and is worth 2 sessions. The Club Secretary keeps records of attendance so that students can ensure they have attended enough training sessions to be eligible to attempt the next grading. For intermediate grades 10 sessions within a three-month period will be required for grading.
| Grade: | Sessions required | |
| Beginners | When competent. | |
| 9th to 8th Kyu | 15 sessions between each grade. | |
| 8th to 3rd Kyu | 20 sessions between each grade. | |
| 3rd Kyu to 1st Dan | 40 sessions between each grade. |
The minimum age for 2nd Dan is 16 years.
The key to success is concentration, hard effort and practice. However - thinking always of the next promotion is contrary to the spirit of Karate, and can hamper progress.
